Rudolph Harvie Boone
Rudolph Harvie Boone, age 84, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at his residence.
Rudolph Boone was born in Welch, W.Va. to the late Clarence Boone and Mollie Wyatt Boone. At a young age, his family moved to Burnesville, N.C., where he was raised and joined the Plum Branch Baptist Church. He met and married his wife, Willa Dale; and joined the U. S. Army.
Upon his discharge, he became an employee of the Feldspar Corporation; and in 1959, the company transferred him to the new Monticello plant. He worked for the Jasper County Work Camp for a number of years; and before retirement, worked as a self-employed auto mechanic.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing and riding his tractor. But above all, he loved his family and friends and time spent with them.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia McPeters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Willa Dale Hylemon Boone of Monticello; children and spouses, Deborah Hooper, Tony and Cindy Boone and Denise and Robbie Pulliam of Monticello, and Karen and Doug Morgan of Covington; grandchildren, Donnie Pope, Justin Hooper, Toni DeWitt, Josh Boone, Dusty Boone, Emily Boone, Gage Boone, Sammie Dee Denny, Michael “Bubba” Tillman, Keith Pulliam and Mandi Pulliam; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Farrie Hughes and Jewell Boone of Burnesville, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Hebron Cemetery in Monticello. Rev. Jeremy Tondee will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Pope, Justin Hooper, Michael Tillman, Keith Pulliam, Josh Boone, Dusty Boone and Gage Boone.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2016, at Jordan Funeral Home.
The family suggests donations in lieu of flowers to the charity of one’s choice.
