Many Are Sentenced in Court

Ocmulgee District Court Judge Allison Burleson presided over the Jasper Superior Court March 1 motion day and arraignment calendar session. Cases that were processed include:

Gus Allen Davis, III, sentenced to five years of probation as habitual violator. Charges of open container and failure to stop were nolle prossed. Fined $1,500.

Patrick Dean Burnette, sentenced to five years of probation for possession of a firearm by convicted felon and fined for speeding. Possession of marijuana and possession of drug related objects were nolle prossed. Fined $1,100.

Alicia Marie Cates, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Possession of drug related objects was nolle prossed. Fined $700.

Desmond Raymond Whitlock, sentenced to 24 months of probation for criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, obstruction of an officer, and public drunkenness. Fined $600.

Tony Lee Rooks, sentenced to 12 months of probation for possession of marijuana. Fined $500.

Dustin Dakota Smith, sentenced to 12 months of probation for hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal. Fined $500.

Timothy Lynwood, Jr., sentenced to 12 months of probation for simple battery. Two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree were nolle prossed. Fined $300.

Odell Thurman, sentenced to 12 months of probation for public drunkenness. Fined $300.

Willie Frank Sanders, sentenced to 12 months of probation for disorderly conduct. Fined $200.

Deuntea Tyquill Lynch, sentenced to 12 months of probation for possession of marijuana. Fined $500.

Prevatt Boykin, sentenced to 12 months of probation for pandering. Fined $300.

Probation revocation and modifications included:

Terri Lynn Tyler was sent to the State Department Of Corrections for violating probation terms on February 23 when she violated a ban from Jasper County.

Romaine Seay, sentenced to serve 114 days in jail for failing to complete community service, failure to report to the probation officer, failure to pay court fines, failure to complete drug abuse treatment and family violence intervention program.

Allen Humphries, sentenced to enter state probation detention center for 180 days for failing to comply with drug testing, failing to obtain substance abuse evaluation, and failure to pay court fines.

Andrew Schulte, sentenced to 90 days in a state probation detention center for new offense of theft by receiving stolen property and hit and run on October 19 in Henry County. Also failed to report to the probation officer in two counties.

Pretrial diversions were entered into for Timothy Landress and Maxwell Wells.

During the February 23 motion day session, presided over by Hugh Wingfield, III, the following sentences were handed down:

William Lee Clifton, sentenced to eight years of confinement with four years to serve with a suspension upon successful completion of probation for possession of methamphetamine and possession of controlled substance by inmate. Fined $1,000.

Lori Lee Davis, sentenced to two years in confinement for possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Credit for time served since July 2015 was given.

Sanders Miller, sentenced to five years of probation for possession of methamphetamine, crossing the guard line with contraband, driving under the influence, failure to stop at stop sign, and open container. Credit was given for time served since October 2015.

William Seth Lansburg, sentenced to five years of probation for possession of methamphetamine, obstruction of an officer, and giving false information to a law enforcement officer. Fined 1,000.

Teri Lynn Tyler, sentenced to 12 months of probation for battery, family violence. Also banished from Jasper County for violating no violent contact order given February 2015 by committing battery offense December 2015.
