Cougar Golf Begins

Monroe Golf & Country Club will be the location for the Piedmont Academy golf team as the Cougars begin their 2016 season.

Piedmont will face Loganville Christian today, March 17, for a 4:30 p.m. match. Coach Michael Wilson’s team will then host Gatewood on Monday at Hunter Pope Country Club at 3:30 p.m.

The Cougars have two seniors on this spring’s roster including Chandler Burrell and Tanner Casey along with two juniors in Zach Sanders and Preston Tyler. Freshmen include Logan Conner, Kade Mitcham and Sam Younker along with eighth grader Browning Benton.

In other matches this month, Piedmont will face Flint River on the road March 23 and Peachtree Academy on the road March 31. Another home match is scheduled April 12 against Flint River.

The region tournament will be April 18.
