Art & Talent Showcase Is Friday

The Kiwanis Club of Monticello will host its annual Art Showcase & Les Steele Talent Show on Friday, March 18, at 6 p.m. at Jasper County High School, 14477 Hwy. 11 North.

The showcase gives students of the Jasper County Schools, Piedmont Academy, and home schools in Jasper County an opportunity to share their performing and artist talents before a large and appreciative audience.

Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students. Proceeds go towards supporting local art and music programs and organizations that support children in Jasper County such as 4-H and the library.

First, second and third place awards will be presented in each age group, and each participant will receive a certificate of participation.

Musical talent and art winners in the senior high division (grades 9-12) will go on to represent the Monticello Kiwanis Club and community at the state competition on April 30 in Albany.

All artists and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend the Talent and Art Showcase on Friday as they will be recognized.

The Kiwanis Club encourages the community to come out to support these young people as they display their talents.
