SEUSS ON THE LOOSE

Norma Mattison displays a quilt she made last year to benefit Seuss on the Loose, a childhood literacy event set for Saturday, March 5 this year.

Ms. Mattison makes a quilt each year to be raffled off as part of the fund raiser for the event. Seuss on the Loose benefits the Ferst Foundation which provides a free book a month for every child under five years old. All the parent has to do is sign the child up, and the books arrive in the mail each month.

The fund raising event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Jasper County High School, 14477 Hwy. 11 North, and offers much fun for children, and prizes for adults. The Cat in the Hat will be make appearances around town in preparation for the event.
