Erin Lynch Is Seeking Re-Election

Erin Lynch has announced her intent to seek re-election to the District 2 Board of Education seat. She has served in this capacity since 2013.
Before serving on the Board of Education, Mrs. Lynch volunteered in the Jasper County School System in various capacities since 2005 when her first child entered the primary school. She was a member of each school’s PTO, serving in different officer positions. She also served on Parent School Councils and on the Superintendent’s advisory committee.
“When I was elected three years ago to the Jasper County School Board of Education, the vision of the school system was ‘to provide committed staff, committed environments, and high standards to achieve academic growth and success.”
“For the past three years, our school board has developed policies and has worked together with our superintendent to cultivate and to work toward these goals,” said Mrs. Lynch. “I am encouraged in our plan to become a Charter System. This move will allow us to make some changes in our schools to allow us to focus on issues that are very specific to our school system and county.
“Becoming a charter system will allow us to move forward to make our mission statement a reality—providing a superior and innovative learning experience so that each student in our school system will be prepared for life beyond school.
“I thank District 2 for allowing me to serve on the school Board of Education. I ask again for your support and allow me to serve again in this capacity.
Mrs. Lynch grew up in Monticello and graduated from Piedmont Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, and a Masters of Science in nursing from Georgia College and State University. She is currently employed by Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington.
Mrs. Lynch is married to Jim Lynch, both a JCHS alum and former JCHS teacher. They have three children in the Jasper County School System; Braden, a tenth grader; Ben, an eighth grader; and Ethan, a sixth grader.
