Doug Luke Seeks Re-Election to District 5

Doug Luke officially announces his intentions to seek re-election for a second term for the District 5 seat on the county commission.

“I have had the privilege these past three years to serve the citizens of Jasper County and District 5. I have also been blessed to serve with a great group of fellow commissioners which together make a solid team, who truly have the best interest of Jasper county at heart,” said Mr. Luke.

“Although we have had our setbacks, we have persevered and made progress in several areas vital to the future success of our county such as:

•Landfill—EPD compliant for first time since 2006.

•Economic Development —increased support has resulted in substantial job opportunities such as Norton Packaging, Thompson Hardwood Flooring and new prospect for 2016.

•Recreation—participation had tripled in last two years.

•Public safety—revitalized resources for sheriffs department gives our officers tools they need to get crime and drugs off our streets.
