Gene Trammell Is Seeking Re-Election

GENE TRAMMELL

District 3 County Commissioner Gene Trammell has announced that he is seeking re-election as District 3 Commissioner.

Mr. Trammell will be completing his first term in December and has announced his intentions of running for re-election.

“It has truly been a privilege and an honor to serve this county during this term,” he said.

“The goals that have guided me in the present term will remain my goals in my next term:

•Move Jasper from being so reactive in practices into a more proactive style of operation

•The building of a cohesive and efficient team of all county leaders

•Planning and implementation of expanded infrastructure to include law enforcement, fire and rescue as well as investing in our youth through enhanced library services and much improved recreation services

“Progress has been made in each of these areas, but work remains. Roads, Industrial Development and job creation are priority items, as well as the continued effort to make improvements in all other areas,” said Mr. Trammell.

“This board’s major accomplishment has without a doubt been to finally develop a plan and properly clean our landfill. This landfill has cost the county an estimated $5,000,000 over the last 10 years, but will be history within the next 60 days.”
