Let it Snow!!

The city of Monticello did not register any precipitation over the last week, as seen in the table on page 4, but we all know we had plenty of rain Thursday and Friday, with the possibility of something else. Sure enough, Friday night, the snow fell.

Although it only provided a dusting in most places, it was enough for children to get out and play in it, and to make some picturesque views. The newspaper office (top photo) is shown in it’s grandeur. That’s where interested persons can still bring two canned goods and save $5 off a year’s subscription.

Westin and Laynie Matthews (above left) enjoyed the snow as did Lucy Johnston (top, right), and Willow Hammond (bottom right) who is seen right after releasing a snowball. Bradley the dog also enjoyed exploring the white stuff. Most of it melted Saturday as the temperatures rose, but it was fun while it lasted. The light amount, and the timing, meant it did not affect travel or school.
