Ginger Ann Atchison Born

Ginger Ann Atchison Born, age 36, of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at her residence.

Ginger Born was born in Dallas, Texas to Preston Atchison and Sherry Lea Nabors Atchison. She grew up in Waxahachie, Texas where she graduated high school. After high school, she attended Texas A&M University where she earned a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught elementary school for four years in Grand Prairie, Texas.

In 2008, she married Daniel Born and moved to Hillsboro, Ga. There she taught fourth grade for a year and a half before becoming a stay-at-home mom to their six year old son.

She was a member of the Madison Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her father, Preston Adair Atchison, four months ago.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Benjamin Born of Hillsboro; son, Augustus Benjamin “Gus” Born of Hillsboro; mother, Sherry Nabors Atchison of Waxahachie, Texas; brother, Charles Dean (Jerlyn) Atchison of Dumas, Texas; grandmother, Mildred Nabors of Garland, Texas, and a number of sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Williams Payne Cemetery. Elder Bobby Wood will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, and from 1 until 2:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at Jordan Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Shepherd, Charles Atchison, Wayne Hooker, Patrick Dalton, Russ Corbin, and Harry Ragan.
