New Council Takes Office

Three new faces join the Monticello City Council for its first meeting next Tuesday, and they were each sworn in individually this week so they are prepared to serve if they are needed before that time. Otherwise, they will be at the meeting, ready to serve.

Stone Workman was elected Mayor Pro-Tem, and Cynthia Miller and Jenny Murphy fill City Council seats. Mayor Bryan Standifer and Councilmen Larry Thurman and David Wease have two more years left in their terms.

The Monticello City Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., at the Monticello Government Complex.
