Drugs Are Confiscated; Several Arrested

DRUGS, MONEY ARE CONFISCATED; PERSONS ARE ARRESTED

On Tuesday, Jan. 5, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) conducted a search of a residence on Hwy 212 West. The location was occupied by Shena Kaye Sego, 31, of that location, Louie Daly, 33, of East Point, and two young children.

Both adults were arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule IV substance with intent to distribute and possession of drug related objects.

Deputies then went to a Turtle Cove location and arrested Joseph Patrick Moss, 33, of Covington, Beverly Moss, 53, of Covington and Suzanne Summer Glenn, 21, of Social Circle and all were charged with trafficking of methamphetamine after they were intercepted while making a delivery to a Turtle Cove location. They were found to be in possession of approximately two ounces of methamphetamine.

Since the parties were from Newton County, Jasper County Agents contacted the Newton County Narcotics Unit. Both Jasper and Newton Counties then went to a Moss Road location in Newton County and conducted an additional search. The search yielded approximately four ounces of methamphetamine, firearms and cash.

Methamphetamine can be sold for upwards of $100 dollars per gram, which makes the drug worth about $2,800 per ounce.

Officers with the (JCSO also investigated a number of complaints last week, including several thefts.

A resident at Monticello Estates on 147th Street reported several electronics being taken.

A complainant on Bethel Church Road reported cash being taken, and fake currency was found on Short Street. Another burglary was reported on Lane Road in Monticello. An individual is charged with shoplifting after someone from the Cicle K called the deputy.

In addition, a case of fraud was investigated by a complainant that went to the sheriff’s office.

Also, a Mercury Mountaineer was taken from an address on Marben Farms Road in Shady Dale, and a jet ski was reported missing from an address on Price Road.

•Jerry Nicholas Lassetter, 17, Monticello—simple assault.

•Jermaine Antonio Lopez, 31, Covington — probation violation.

•Noah Christopher Jackson, 24, Monticello—probation violation and theft by shoplifting.

•Brittany Rena Gilstrap, 24, Covington—disorderly conduct.

•Brandon Shane Biddy, 19, Monticello—disorderly conduct.

•Robert Eulis Grimsley, 39, Monticello—probation violation.

•Jerome Lamar Reid, 45, Monticello—probation violation.

•Tommy Lee Kell, 18, Stone Mountain—probation violation and disorderly conduct.

•Detrich Demond Waller, 39, Eatonton—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Mandy Ruth Johnson, 35, Monticello — possession of methamphetamine.

*Kristopher Ty Armistead, 25, Covington—possession of firearm by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence (two counts), open container, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, speeding, failure to stop at stop sign, tail light violation and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

•Walter Mead Carter, 63, Monticello—probation violation.

•Alesha Marie Grindle, 32, Covington—possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

•Levi Blaine Ellington, 24, Oxford—possession of Schedule I controlled substance.

•Jetravius Qantel Thurman, 20, Shady Dale—simple assault.

•Ashley Laquetta Mohorne, 32, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs less safe, endangering the life of child by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs less safe and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

•Kevin Andrew Wilhite, 30, Monticello—disorderly conduct.

•Brandon Shane Biddy, 19, Monticello—probation violation.

•Michael Allen Loftis, 25, Monticello—probation violation.

•Dwight Anthony Jones, 26, Covington—probation violation.

•James Edward Brooks, 50, Monticello—contempt of court.
