Drug Arrests Are Made

Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) made several drug arrests in the past couple of weeks.
Valerie Dawn Sanders, 43, of Monticello, was arrested pursuant to a traffic stop at Jackson Lake Road and the Georgia Power boat ramp. She was charged with possession of Schedule IV Controlled substance, possession of hydrocodone, tampering with evidence, possession of methamphetamine, drug related objects and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
Heather Marie Johnson, 34, also of Monticello, was arrested pursuant to a search of her residence after the JCSO received information of her selling narcotics from her home in Alcovy Shores.
She was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute (two counts), possession of Schedule III, IV or V controlled substance with intent to distribute (five counts), possession of methamphetamine, crossing guard line with a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, drug related objects and obstruction of an officer.
In addition, a juvenile was arrested after a search of a residence in Turtle Cove resulted in marijuana being found.
Deputies also investigated a few thefts in the last week, with a number of firearms, electronics and other items taken from an address on Rocky Creek Road.
Jewelry was the main thing reported missing from a residence on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive after a break-in.

•Manda Ruth Johnson, 35, Monticello—cruelty to children and disorderly conduct.
•Francis Godfrey Leverette, 48, Monticello—terroristic threats and acts.
•Billy Joe Wages, 39, Hillsboro—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, no insurance, failure to maintain lane, suspended registration of vehicle.
•Hilario Ramirez, 37, Shady Dale—driving without a valid license.
•Taylor Briane Eaton, 19, Covington—disorderly conduct.
•Vance Obrian Coleman, 41, Hillsboro—disorderly conduct.
•Oscar Henry Jenkins, 51, Monticello—probation violation.
