Mrs. Dorothy Faye Davis
A celebration of life for Mrs. Dorothy Faye Davis was held Wednesday, Nov. 4, from the graveside at Smith-Thomas Cemetery in Monticello.
Mrs. Davis was born on July 30, 1929 in Monticello to the late Sally Thomas Standifer and the late Willie Standifer.
She received her education from the public school system of Jasper County, and attended Jasper County Training School. She later joined St. James A.M.E. Church.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy Lewis Davis (Dad); two daughters, Vevelyn L. Davis and Linda Sue Davis; a son, Steve Davis; a grandson, Terrance Lavell Davis; two sisters, Fannie Glawson and Emma Gantt; eight brothers, Joseph Standifer, J. Bird Standifer, Walter Standifer, John Standifer, James Standifer, Harold Standifer, Mitchell Lee Standifer and Peter Standifer, and a brother-in-law, Aruthur Blawson (Buck).
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted son and daughter, Mr. Stanley Keith Davis Sr. (Cynthia) of Monticello, and Mrs. Margaret Wainwright (Arthur) of College Park; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Daivs of Monticello; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Reva Standifer; four granddaughters, Kenshika Davis, Tameka Davis, Meyuana Davis, all of Monticello, and Sharonda Davis of Warner Robins; six grandsons, Casey Davis of McDonough, Carey Davis of Birmingham, Ala., Reginald Wainwright of Atlanta, Marcus Davis of Ft. Myers, Fla., Steven Davis and Stanley Keith Davis, Jr., both of Monticello; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and dear friends.
Final arrangements were entrusted to Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Monticello.
