First-Time Player Gets 14 Right

April Wright doesn’t routinely play the football contest, but co-worker Glen Carter would never miss one. So, last week, she sought Glen’s help, and entered the football contest.
He gave better advice than he took himself, because Ms. Wright completed her entry and got 14 of 15 games right. Mr. Carter didn’t even make honor roll. And, nearly 20 people made the honor roll this week.
For her efforts, Ms. Wright picked up a $25 gift certificate from the week’s prize sponsor, Dairy Queen. It was presented by Heather Anderson Tuesday afternoon.
This week, 15 more games are listed, a mixture of high school, college and pro, for players to choose who they think will win. The person with the most correct picks, subject to the tie-breaker will pick up a $25 prize from Kelly Fox at Northwestern Mutual Insurance Co.
The honor roll includes everyone who has gotten 12 or more right on any given week during the contest. At the end of the contest those names will all be put into a drawing for a four-ticket prize package to the Chick-Fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta on New Year’s Eve.
This week’s contest is listed on page 10 of today’s paper. Anyone can play, and anyone can win. Just guess the winner of the games listed, and submit your entry no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 8, to The News office 247 West Washington Street, or by fax to 706-468-6576. The winner will be notified on Monday. For more information call The News office at 706-468-6511.
