Lady ‘Canes Compete

The Monticello Lady Hurricane varsity softball team headed to Donalsonville Wednesday, Oct. 14 to take on the Seminole County Indians in the first round of Georgia High School Association (GHSA) state play-offs.

The Lady Canes are seeded #4 in the 4-AA Region following a loss to Lamar County on Wednesday, Oct. 6 in a best of three series for the #2 seed behind Bleckley. The squad then lost to Crawford County in the consolation round to determine the third and fourth seeds.

A win Wednesday would have the Lady Canes taking on the winner of Rabun County vs. Bremen contest next Wednesday, Oct. 21 on the road.
