MS Lady Cougars Earn 16-1 Win

Piedmont Academy’s Middle School softball team rolled to a 16-1 victory in four innings against Gatewood Monday.

“We did well offensively and defensively,” said coach Cameron Vaughn.

Fleming Sealy and Kenzie Rodgers both pitched in Monday’s home game. Sealy worked the first two innings while Rodgers closed out the final two frames.

“The whole team had a good outing offensively,” Vaughn said.

Prior to this week’s action, the Middle School Lady Cougars defeated Flint River on the road 17-2.

Rodgers recorded two strikeouts in the contest.

“We played well defensively, making plays behind Kenzie,” Vaughn said.

Piedmont’s Middle School softball team will host Briarwood today, Sept. 24 at 4:30 p.m. and then compete in a tournament at John Milledge on Saturday. The team will then host Westfield on Monday at 5 p.m.
