MS Canes Tie with Morgan

The Jasper County Middle School Hurricanes fought to a tie against the Morgan County Bulldogs last Wednesday.

The Canes fought from a 28-14 deficit in the third quarter to tie it in the fourth quarter, but at the end of the fourth the game was declared a tie by the officials. The score ended up 28-28.

Gaven Sands scored three touchdowns, two on offense and one on defense (interception return for TD.) Matt Cain had a touchdown pass to Sands and Jaylon Mitchell had one rushing touchdown.

The MS record is 1-0-1 in the Piedmont Athletic Conference.

Pre-game Monticello Mayor Bryan Standifer was honored for his support of our community and schools.

Also, last week against Social Circle, William Stewart had two rushing touchdowns instead of one as listed.
