Bloodmobile Visits Monday

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive in Monticello next Monday, Aug. 31, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Monticello Baptist Church.

The Red Cross has an urgent need for blood. Over the summer, blood donations have been down more than 10 percent. One donation can save as many as three lives.

The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in the community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every two to three second, and most of us will need blood in our lifetime, said the announcement from the American Red Cross.

Most healthy adults are eligible to give blood, and the donation process takes only about an hour. For more information, visit the blood drive or visit www.redcross.org.
