Several Are Sentenced During Criminal Trial Week

Criminal trial week that began on Monday in Jasper Superior Court resulted in jail time for three individuals.

Judge William Prior, Jr. sentenced Kenneth Darnell James to 10 years with the first five to be served in confinement and the remainder on probation, as a repeat offender, for one count of burglary in the first degree. He was fined $1,500.

James Dewayne Johnson was sentenced to 15 years with the first four years to be served in confinement and the remainder on probation, also as a repeat offender, for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. His fines total $2,000.

Andre Etienne Prevost received 12 years of which the first 16 months must be served in Jasper County jail and the remainder on probation for two counts including possession of a Schedule I and II controlled substance with intent to distribute and fined $2,000.

Other sentences included:

Roderick Darnell Carter—10 years of probation for possession of marijuana, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and possession of dangerous drugs, $2,000 fine.

Artagus Davarus Manning—five years of probation for sale of marijuana, $2,000 fine.

Travis Deandre Farley—four years of probation for obstruction of an officer and terroristic threats, $1,000 fine.

Joseph David Anglin—24 months of probation for simple battery, reckless driving, and public drunkenness, $1,000 fine.

Brandon Shane Biddy—24 months of probation for two counts of battery and one count of affray, $600 fine.

Mina Adams, 24 months of probation for possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, and improper passing on left. $700 fine.

Ramon Arturo Jackson, 24 months of probation for two counts of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, $400 fine.

Randy Steve McElveen, 12 months of probation for reckless driving, $500 fine.

Quaniesha Zane Sands, 12 months of probation for possession of marijuana, $400 fine.

Michael Drake Young, 12 months of probation for crossing the guard line with unauthorized items, $500 fine.

Bryan Keith Robinson, 12 months of probation for disorderly conduct, $400 fine.

Walter Mead Carter, 12 months of probation for obstruction of an officer, public drunkenness, and loitering, $200 fine.

Alex Kelvin Carter, 12 months of probation for obstruction of an officer, $400 fine.

Roberto Solis Esparza, 12 months of probation for reckless driving, $500 fine.

Malcom Jamal Smith, 12 months of probation for possession of marijuana and obstruction of an officer, $500 fine.

Angela Denet Atkinson, 12 months of probation for tampering with evidence and obstruction of an officer, $500 fine.

Jonathan Matthew Tallent, 12 months of probation for battery, $400 fine.

Four individuals, Kelly Denise Walker, Kelly James Olson, Jr., Ross Gasque, and Frederico Epps, were placed on pretrial diversion status.

Tiffany Michael had her criminal case dead docketed.
