Grand jury Indicts 20
A Grand Jury convened last week in Jasper Superior Court under the jurisdiction of Ocmulgee Circuit Court Judge Brenda Trammell.
The Grand Jury considered 31 bills of indictments of which 20 were true billed (found enough evidence to indict) and 11 were no billed.
The 23 individuals selected and sworn in to serve on the grand jury were instructed and guided by District Attorney Fredric Bright, Assistant District Attorney Brent Cochran, and Victim’s Advocate Michelle Hill.
Indictments include:
•Michael Jansen Peek— eight counts including three counts of aggravated child molestation, three counts of incest, and one count of sodomy all occurring March 2008 through May 2015.
•Bryan Blankenship—two counts including computer pornography and obscene internet contact with a child in July 2015.
•Andre Smith—eight counts including sale of cocaine, two counts of sale of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana each with intent to distribute in May 2015.
•Connie Smith—three counts including sale of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana each with intent to distribute in May 2015.
•Christopher Thomas—two counts including aggravated assault and battery in December 2014.
•Michael Allaway—two counts including burglary in first degree and terroristic threats in March 2015.
•Dwight Gilbert—two counts including manufacture of marijuana and possession of marijuana in June 2015.
• Will Baker—one count of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute in June 2015.
• Kelly Walker—one count of aggravated assault in May 2015.
• Michael Jepsen and Austin Adams—one count of burglary in the second degree in June 2015.
•Kevin Thompson and Cherie Anderson—one count of identity fraud in July 2014.
