Cases Are Settled on Motion Day
During last week’s August 11 motion day session Judge William Prior reviewed three new cases and several probation revocations that resulted in the following sentences:
Christopher Britton Capell—sentenced to two years in jail and three years of probation for possession of controlled substance by inmate, fined $1,000.
Wilburn Lee Knight—probation revoked to serve remainder of sentence in the state penal system until December 2018 for failure to register as sex offender, failure to abide by curfew, and failure to pay court fines.
William Mcnerney—sentenced to 180 days into a probation detention center for new offense of obstruction of an officer, failure to pay court fines, and failure to report to the probation office.
Mathew Bryan Jackson—sentenced to serving the balance of his probation in the state penal system for several new offenses in Newton and Jasper counties including two counts of possession of tools for commission of crime, three counts of driving while license suspended, obstruction of an officer, theft by taking, possession of marijuana, burglary in the first degree.
Teresa Dailey—sentenced to 60 days in jail for driving under the influence in Butts County.
Michael Greenway—sentenced to 90 days in a probation detention center for refusal to submit to drug testing and failure to report to probation office in Putnam County.
Curtis Lee Ross—sentenced to 150-180 days in a probation detention center for admitting to drug use, failure to report to the probation office, and failure to pay court fines.
Jonathan Andrew Hix—sentenced to 60 days in jail for positive drug test.
Thomas Anderson—sentenced to 12 days in jail and ordered to pay past due fines within 90 days for new offense of simple battery.
Michael Thomas Hinton—sentenced to complete substance abuse treatment program for positive drug test.
Mitchell Alton Sailors—sentenced to complete substance abuse treatment program for new offense of theft of services in Putnam County and testing positive for drugs.
Nicholas Walto—sentenced to 12 months probation of driving under the influence, fined $500.
Amanda Sue Carter—sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and drugs not in original container, fined $500.
