Arrests Are Made
Officers with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office investigated several burglaries in the last week, as well as a couple attempted burglaries.
Someone attempted to break into the A-1 Food Store on Forsyth Street, but was thwarted in the effort when the alarm sounded. The evidence was found the next day. A citizen from Bullard Road also went to the sheriff’s office to report an attempted theft, but no details were available from the incident report.
A horse saddle was taken from an address on Concord Road, and a backhoe was taken from a Covington address in Jasper County. In addition, a resident in Turtle Cove reported the theft of some pills and a CD.
Investigators are looking into a fraud/financial I.D. case for a resident on Sugar Hill Road, and a stolen vehicle report that was labeled theft by deception on Smith Mill Road.
Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•Timothy Randall Pugh, 28, Covington—obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
•Quan Dameon Middlebrooks, 25, Monticello—forgery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and probation violation.
•Henry Jay Digby, 26, Covington—false report of a crime.
•Alicia Marie Cates, 38, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and probation violation.
•Paul Russell Hall, 45, Newborn—hold for warrant in Henry Co.
•Marilyn Ann Armstrong, 43, Monticello—probation violation.
•Desi Jamar Appling, 46, Monticello—possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, forgery and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Michael Todd Howard, 38, Conyers—criminal trespass, theft by taking and simple battery.
•Cortez Antonio Paul, 44, Macon—Jasper County Probate Court bench warrant.
•Claude Lee Grier, Sr., 50, Jackson—child support.
•Christopher Bernard Pilcher, 41, Madison—burglary (four counts) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (two counts).
•Joann Clark, 38, Monticello—disorderly conduct.
•Quincy Lamar Horton, 42, Monticello—forgery and probation violation.
•Michael Oneal Lyons, 48, Shady Dale—pedestrian under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Helen Diane Moore, 63, Monticello—reckless conduct.
•John Erick Smith, 39, Monticello—hold for warrant in Newton Co.
•Brenson Tyler Hunt, 25, Winder—possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Randolph Alexander Leighton, 22, Winder—possession of cocaine, failure to stop at stop sign, failure to maintain lane and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Timothy Joseph Huggins, 49, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Terry Hugh Kleeblatt, 30, Covington—driving while license suspended or revoked and disobeying red light.
•Tony Austin Ray, 28, Griffin—operating vessel with improper lights and operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Gerky Reyes, 39, Conyers:—possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and obstruction of a law enforcement officer (three counts).
•Tangie Louise Gray, 51, Covington—failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Kenneth Anthony Thurman, 52, Monticello—criminal trespass.
•Mary Ann Cleveland, 43, Patterson—probation violation.
•Willie Andrew Winston, 33, Lithonia—Jasper County Probate Court bench warrant.
•James Thomas Russell, 19, Monticello—aggravated stalking.
•Craig Gabriel Inscore, 26, Covington—simple battery.
