Persons Are Sentenced; Probation Is Revoked
Judge Alison Burleson spent a lengthy day in Jasper Superior Court on August 4 as a larger number than usual of civil cases were presented and fewer than normal criminal cases were reviewed.
In criminal motion day action Shawn Richard Griffith was sentenced to three years in jail for possession of methamphetamine with credit for time served from February 2015.
Justin Cooper Singletary was sentenced to five years of probation with the first 180 days to be served in a state probation detention center for a number of charges in two separate cases. He violated his previous probation terms in April 2015 by committing the new offenses of burglary in first degree, obstruction of an officer, and possession of drug related objects. He also failed to report to the probation office and complete community service work as required.
Valencia Michelle Boswell, was sentenced to six months into Sober Living America for new offense of driving while license suspended in Rockdale County and possession of methamphetamine in Jasper County. If she fails to enter into the program 180 days will be revoked to the jail.
Probation modifications included:
Darren Greer, 180 days in probation detention center for failure to complete a long-term treatment program in May 2015 and failure to report to probation offices in Putnam, Jasper, and Spalding counties.
Jessie Gude, 120-180 days in probation detention center for positive drug testing, failure to report to probation office and failure to pay court fines.
Tony Thurman, fined $500, payable within 90 days or serve 90 days in jail for new offense of disorderly conduct in June 2015.
Emily Gail Medina, sentenced to 25 days in jail and released with credit for time served for failure to report to probation office, failure to complete community service, and failure to pay court fines.
Keon Standifer, given 90 days to pay $700 or return to court for further action following new offenses of driving under the influence and in possession of marijuana in Putnam County.
