Gerald Hamilton

Gerald Hamilton, age 59, of Monticello, and formerly of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bonnie (B.H.) Hamilton; and brother, Michael Hamilton.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cindy Hamilton, Monticello; mother, Kathleen Higgins Waite, Snellville; twin sisters and brothers-in-law, Melody and Robert E. Lee, Loganville, and Melaney and John Tarpley, Lawrenceville; sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Wayne Harbuck, Fitzgerald, GA; sister-in-law, Helen Hamilton, Lawrenceville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Hamilton was born in 1955 in Atlanta. He was a 1972 graduate of Berkmar High School in Lilburn, and also a graduate of DeKalb Technical College. He was a retired fireman from Gwinnett County Fire Department after 31 years of service.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at noon in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, Ga. Graveside service and interment will follow at 4 p.m. at the William Payne Cemetery in Monticello.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Newton County Young Farmers, P.O. Box 390, Covington, GA 30015 in memory of Gerald Hamilton.
