Easter Activities Abound

This Sunday, April 5, is Easter, and many activities are being held in conjunction with the Christian holiday.

Various area churches have special services planned, and there will be a community sunrise service on the Square. Some of the special activities we promoted in last week’s paper, and many are being promoted this week.

Several churches have Easter egg hunts on Saturday for the children, and many have special Easter services, such as Maundy Thursday services tonight, Good Friday services tomorrow, and special services Sunday. Some use the occasion to kick off or wind up revival services, also.

Holy Week services were held every day this week at noon at Monticello First United Methodist Church. A complete listing of special events that have been promoted in The Monticello News is included in the calendar on page 2 of Thursday’s paper.
