Missing Woman Is Found
An elderly woman apparently walked away from Jasper Memorial Hospital, where she was a patient, Friday evening and got lost, being found in the woods Saturday morning as a emergency officials were preparing for a search party.
The hospital first reported the woman missing about 8:45 p.m., and sheriff’s department personnel immediately began a search of the area attempting the locate the woman. At about 3:30 a.m., the search was called off, waiting to re-start at daylight. Captain Mike Steele with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, said they were getting people together to organize the search Saturday morning when a gentleman found the missing woman, Odessa Bryant, in the woods off Tanyard Street.
Ms. Bryant was returned to the hospital and later taken to another facility, as she suffered from the night of exposure to the elements. Her condition was unknown at press time.
In other action in the last week, deputies recovered a stolen truck when someone called in a suspicious vehicle last Friday. Bill Karl Hendrix of a Decatur address was arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.
Other complaints investigated by the JCSO in the last week included a report of identification fraud, theft by deception, entering auto, and burglary.
Others taken into custody, include:
•Samantha McKenzie Carter, 18, Monticell—false report of a crime and driving while unlicensed.
•Jimmy Lee Jackson, 51, Monticello—possession of cocaine, probation violation, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, obstruction of an officer, child support, parole violation and possession and use of drug related objects.
•Dantreze Onveckio Nelson, 24, Monticello—probation violation.
•Robert Deonte Chandler, 30, Atlanta—probation violation.
•Michael Arthur Johnson, 35, Monticello—aggravated stalking.
•Michael David Allaway, 58, Decatur: terroristic threats and acts, and burglary.
•Deborah Jean Burns, 21, MacClenny—possession of methamphetamine and and possession of Schedule III controlled substance.
•Joseph Palmer Yokom, 35, Brandywine, WV.—possession of amphetamine.
•James Lawrence Alford, 36, Eatonton— possession of methamphetamine.
•Bryan Lee Diaz, 33, Milledgeville—criminal damage to property in the second degree.
•Valencia Michelle Dallas, 18, Athens: hold for warrant in Clarke Co.
•Damien Antoine Parham, 34, Monticello—driving while license suspended and revoked.
•James Scott Baldwin, 39, Porterdale—child support.
•Cedric Deshon Thurmond, 34, Monticello—hold for warrant in Jackson Co.
