‘Cane Golf Ready to Start

The Monticello Hurricane Golf team was slated to swing into action for the 2015 season Tuesday afternoon but light rains prevented that from occurring.

The team is led by returning coach Matt Tumlin.

The boys’ team includes freshmen Clayton Baker, Noah Faubli, Brock Lummus, Carter Pitts, Cole Usry, Joseph Wilkerson, sophmores Hunter Candler, Zach Mooney, Cameron Whitner, Drew Williamson, juniors Daniel Cronan, Payton Harwood, and seniors, Jacob Bowers, Tyler Cooper and Noah Stubbs.

The Lady Cane golfers are three sophomores Rileigh Evans, Savannah Fritz, and Baylee Keesee.

The golf season was to begin Tuesday at Alcovy and resume today, March 5 with a match-up in Jackson at Hickory Hills Golf Club.

The team will host their home opener at Hunter Pope Country Club in two weeks on Thursday, March 19 against the Jackson Red Devils golf team and then play at home again Monday, March 23 hosting the Jones County Greyhound golf team.
