Martha King Brinson
Martha King Brinson, age 64, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, February 5, 2015, at her residence.
Martha Brinson was born in Philippi, West Virginia. Her father was the late Clayton Frank King. She was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church and sang in the church choir.
After graduating with a nursing degree, Martha worked in several different hospitals and clinics while moving with her husband, James, during his years of service in the U. S. Air Force. She returned to Hillsboro in 1993.
Martha loved to read, watch movies, considered shopping “her hobby,” but above all, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James Travis Brinson of Hillsboro; children, Heather Brinson of Harriman, Tenn., Jason Brinson of Covington, and Rebecca Brinson of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Dakota Cantrell, Levi Cantrell, and Clayton Oxford; mother, Ruby Bennett King Johnson of Hillsboro; and sisters and brother-in-law, Darlene and Robert Keith, Jr. of Pembroke, Robert King of Hillsboro; and Cathy Queen of Hillsboro.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Rev. John McDuffie will officiate.
