Piedmont Wrestler Places Second

Piedmont Academy eighth grade wrestler Logan Conner took second place in the 195-pound division at a Middle School Tournament this past weekend.

During the event hosted by Trinity Christian School in Dublin, Conner won two matches before suffering a severe sprained ankle, coach Alvin Hawkes said. Conner was unable to continue and had to settle for a second-place finish.

“Logan showed a great deal of toughness finishing his second match despite his injury,” Hawkes said.

Piedmont Academy’s varsity wrestlers will compete at region today, Feb. 5 at Westfield in Perry. The individual state tournament will be Feb. 13-14 at Georgia Southwestern University.
