Monticello Wrestlers Head to State Sectionals

The Jasper County High School (JCHS) Mat Canes have seven wrestlers, five qualifiers and two alternates, headed to state sectionals this weekend at Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC) in Norcross.

Wrestlers finishing in the top four of the weight class during the 2-AA area sectionals, held this past weekend in Social Circle, advanced to the sectionals.

Jacob Bowers placed second in his weight class to qualify; Tyler Seawright and Niall Alhasi each placed third; and Chris Anglin and Cameron Gentry each finished in fourth.

Alternates by way of fifth place finishes will be Glendon Graybill and Peyton Hardwood.

The five qualifiers are in the Top 16 in their respective weight classes for state competition if any advance this weekend it will place them in the Top 8.
