Burglaries Are Solved

From January 28 to the 30, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office executed multiple search warrants at three different locations around the county as the result of an ongoing investigation into thefts and drug activity, according to an announcement from the JCSO.
Multiple stolen items were recovered during the investigation to include a Coachman camper, a Harley Davidson motorcycle, household furniture, trailers and vehicle parts. The search warrants also resulted in the discovery of a chop shop operation that was being conducted in the county, the announcement said.
As of press time, three burglaries have been solved as a result of the investigation and searches. In addition to the stolen items recovered, deputies also located amounts of methamphetamine at two of the locations.
Charged in the investigation were James Dewayne Johnson of Monticello, with theft by receiving, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, Alvin Donald Taylor of Monticello with operating a chop shop, theft by receiving, and possession of methamphetamine, Christopher Larkin Batchelor of Monticello with theft by receiving and first degree burglary, and Adam Clark Glanton of Monticello with operating a chop shop and theft by receiving.
