Shiloh Holds Senior Night

Shiloh Christian Academy held its Senior Night January 20 as they hosted region opponent Barnes Academy.

Five seniors participated in the ceremony which highlighted each of their accomplishments, passions, talents, as well as their plans after graduation. Being escorted during halftime by their parents, the seniors were celebrated by a crowd of family and friends.

The 2015 basketball seniors include Lorin Crawford, Carissa Webb, Jonathan Martin, Emmanuel Lee, and David Sorrells.

The varsity boys defeated the Barnes Academy Vikings 61-32, putting them toward the top of the GICAA D-1A East region. Leading the scoring for the Knights were David Sorrells with 19 points, Trent Raines with 15, and RJ Whitlock, 12.

Both the JV and varsity boys have had a successful run the past two weeks winning four out of their last five against late season opponents. On January 15, the Knights swept the Westside Warriors with jv boys and both varsity teams winning.

The young Knights defeated Westside 32-28. Scoring for the Knights were T. Raines with 11 points; Sam Filkins, 7; Nathan Crawford, 6; Austin Cumbess, 3; and Caleb Dinn, 2.

The varsity girls took control early and commanded the game until the final buzzer taking the 41-30 win. Leading the Lady Knights were Lorin Crawford with 13 points and McKenzie Tolbert with 12.

The varsity boys capped the sweep with big nights from D.Sorrells with 31 points and Whitlock with 21 to take the 82-55 win.
