Several Are Arrested
Three Monticello men are among 11 charged in a child molestation and prostitution investigation in Eatonton recently.
According to a report in The Eatonton Messenger, the Eatonton Police Department, with the assistance of the GBI, issued about 50 warrants for 11 men after an incident involving a 14 year old girl.
Monticello men arrested, and their charges, include:
•Shaquille Rashawn Hill, 20, enticing a child for indecent purposes, statutory rape, and aggravated child molestation.
•Dantrez Onveckio Nelson, 24, two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, two counts of aggravated child molestation; two counts of pandering, and two counts of statutory rape.
•Mario Bernard Thurman, Jr., 22, pandering, two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, and two counts of aggravated child molestation.
Locally, numerous individuals were arrested over the last week, including two for child molestation, and several incidents of burglary were reported.
Those arrested here and charged with child molestation include:
•Shane Dillon Griffith, 22, Covington—child molestation (two counts).
•Amanda Rose Dial, 35, Covington—child molestation (two counts).
Burglaries were reported in several areas of the county. A resident on Eatonton Street reported his Harley Davidson motorcycle being stolen from his garage.
A resident on Holloway Hollow reported the theft of a gun from a vehicle on the property, while a resident on Goolsby Road reported miscellaneous items being taken. Lastly, a resident on Bonner Street reported several guns and electronics taken from the home.
Persons booked into the Jasper County Detention Center in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Melvin Cooper, 59, Rutledge—probation violation.
•Stephon Demarcus Williams, 38, Shady Dale—child support.
•Terry Steven Bagwell, 58, Snellville—Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear bench warrant.
•Tiffany Jean Washington, 32, Jackson—probation violation.
•Christopher Larkin Batchelor, 48, Monticello—windshield violation, suspended vehicle registration, no insurance and driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Marvin Craig Ash, 52, Locust Grove—possession of cocaine, driving while license suspended or revoked, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, window tint violation and possession of drug related objects.
•Jesus Ortiz Gutierrez, 40, Shady Dale—no license and failure to maintain lane.
•Luke Hillyer Thornton, 35, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked.
*Sydney Rae Ozburn, 19, Covington—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Darnell Sanchez Norwood, 18, Shady Dale—driving while unlicensed or expired license.
•William Tracy Bennett, 24, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Larry Demond Dumas, 29, Monticello—pedestrian under the influence of alcohol or drugs and probation violation.
•Willie Lee McGuire, III, 24, Monticello—failure to maintain lane, suspended vehicle registration, no insurance, failure to stop at stop sign and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and probation violation.
•Robert Eulis Grimsley, 38, Hillsboro—failure to maintain lane, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Christopher Demetrius Stodghill, 38, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked.
In addition, deputies responded to 359 calls for service, including 130 checking location, and 86 stopping suspicious person or vehicle.
