Gus ‘Skeet’ Maddox

A celebration of life for Gus “Skeet” Maddox, who died December 26, 2014, was held Saturday, Jan. 3, at Freedonia A.M.E. Church in Monticello. Pastor Willie Card officiated; burial was in South View Cemetery.

Mr. Maddox was born September 16, 1936 in Monticello to Lottie Tea McMichael and Earl Maddox.

Three brothers preceded him in death, William Maddox, Early Maddox and Levi Maddox.

His memories will be forever cherished by his wife, Mary Ann Jackson Maddox; three sons, Gus Jerome Maddox of Decatur, Carlston Lewis Maddox and Doniven Dernell Maddox, both of Atlanta; three daughters, Ollie Denise Maddox of Atlanta, Lavonya Nakia Maddox of August, and Kierra Barber of Decatur; two brothers, Edward McMichael of Racine, WI and Willie Lee McMichael; two sisters, Ollie Barbee of Milwaukee, WI, and Eunice Maddox Bouice of California; eight grandchildren, Trennedy Antonio Maddox, Raphael Antonio Maddox, Mandy Selena Maddox, Jacquard Kadeem Howard, Davonte’ Maddox, Gustavious Maddox and Jasmine Maddox; seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
