Two Time Winner Is Only Player With 13 Right
The final week of The Monticello News football contest for 2014 wound up with a two-time this year winner, Turkey Holland.
Mr. Holland correctly guessed the winner in 13 of the 15 games listed in last week’s Monticello News. He was the only player to get as many as 13 right, although several people got 12 right.
For his efforts, Mr. Holland collected a $25 prize from Hamilton State Bank. Because Mr. Holland was out of town, his father-in-law Charles Bramlett collected his prize for him, presented by Janell Wild, branch manager.
Mr. Holland will have his name added again to the drawing for the grand prize honor roll for tickets to the Chick-Fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta. The game will feature the Rebels of Ole Miss and the TCU Horned Frogs.
Others who had their names added to the honor roll, or got another chance on the honor roll, by getting 12 or more right include Kerri Norris, Chad Malcom, Donell Jackson, Jan Lewis, Tameka Davis, David Wease, Wayne Rye, Xavier Gude, Chasen Edge, DeAnne Greenway, James Greenway, Jacob Greenway, and Hannah Frazee.

Each time a player got 12 or more games right in a contest this season, his or her name was added to the honor roll. Each name will be put in the cookie jar, with multiple winners having multiple chances, and one will be selected to win the Grand Prize. The drawing for the grand prize will be held next Monday, Dec. 15, at noon.
