Several Have Probation Revoked

Several probation revocations were handed down Tuesday during Jasper County Superior Court’s motion day session presided over by Judge E. Trenton Brown.

Charles David Perry, was revoked three years to the state penal system for theft by taking in July 2014 and possession of methamphetamine and theft by receiving stolen property in November 2014.

Charleston Reid, had the balance of his sentence revoked to the state penal system for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, two counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer, two felony and two misdemeanor counts of obstruction of an officer.

Travis Clemons, was revoked to the state penal system for possession of a firearm by felon and possession of marijuana, failure to complete community service and was in arrears on payments.

Hakeel Norwood, revoked 180 days in jail suspended upon entry into a probation detention center for repeatedly failing to report to probation office, failing to meet curfew, and failing to do community service.

Noah Jackson, was given 30 days to pay $400, and if he fails to do so the remainder of his sentence will be revoked to jail for aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and participating in criminal gang activity while being in financial arrears.

Patrick Wesley Odom, was revoked 60 days to jail with credit for time served. Upon payment of $346 time reduced to 30 days on simple battery offense for which he failed to make regular payments and tested positive for marijuana.

Crystal Love, revoked 30 days to jail with suspension upon payment of $675 for failure to make regular payments for deposit account fraud offense in August 2013.

Jason Fidell Hurt, revoked 30 days to jail with credit for time served for testing positive for alcohol and marijuana in November 2014 following a third DUI conviction in August 2013.

Francis G. Leverette, received credit for time served, released from custody and placed on electronic report with 40 community hours to serve for failing to report to probation and appear in court from April 2014 offense.

On Friday, Magistrate Court Judge Angela Steele settled four cases, set trial dates for two cases, continued another, and issued a consent order.

Settled cases included Kayla Stone pleading guilty to cruelty to animals, sentenced 12 months probation, $300 fine, and 30 community service hours.

Cody Ward, pled guilty to disorderly conduct, sentenced 12 months probation, $300 fine, and 30 community service hours.

Gary Champion, probation revoked, and sentenced to 55 days in jail for failure to provide humane care and required rabies inoculation.

Jonathan Sims, sentenced to 60 days in jail for disorderly conduct/obstruction of an officer and probation violation.

Just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, Superior Court convened briefly with Judge William Prior sentenced Michael Petty to 20 years’ probation for offense of burglary in first degree and sentenced Charlie Victrum to 20 days in jail and Marvis Wyman to 120-180 days in jail, each for repeat offenses.
