Winner Has 12 Right in Tough Contest Week

In another tough contest week, only one player correctly guessed the winner in as many as 12 games listed in last week’s Monticello News football contest.
Jenifer Kirksey was the only player to eke out a chance on the Grand Prize Honor Roll this week, and she is the weekly winner.
Only three other players had as many as 11 right. They were Orlando Jones, Jr., Mary Tumlin and Don Kelly.
For her effort, Mrs. Kirksey collected a $25 prize from Ashley Nordstrom, PA-C, at Primary Care Center, sponsor of the week. Mrs. Kirksey’s son, Garrett, picked up the prize for her.

It was Mrs. Kirksey’s second win this season, and her son has also won. Between husband, wife and child, they already have a combined eight chances to win the grand prize—four premium tickets to the Chick-fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta.
Mrs. Kirksey says they all play independently. She studies the teams stats, but she doesn’t let on what Jud or Garrett do. But, there’s no way really to predict who will win on any given Saturday…or Friday or Sunday.
There were several upsets, and just some tough games in last week’s contest, so maybe this week will be a little easier to pick. Then again, it’s playoff time for the high schools, and there are still lots of questions about college and pros.
You don’t have to know your football to play, or to win. You can study the odds, or choose by the name of the team. On any given week, who knows what will happen.
However they pick ‘em, whoever has the most correct picks in this week’s contest will pick up a $25 prize from Venture Medical Associates, sponsor of the week.
See contest with complete rules on page 12. Remember to write legibly, and submit your entry, in person or by fax, to The News office no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 21.
