Beatrice Taylor “Bixie” Weems Pearson
Beatrice Taylor “Bixie” Weems Pearson, age 63, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at her residence.
Bixie, also lovingly known as “Bebe” by her granddaughter, was born in Carrollton, Ga., to the late Walter Collquit Weems and Helen Fisher Weems. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and received her masters’ degree from Lincoln Memorial University.
Bixie lived in Chatsworth before returning to Monticello in 2008. She was a member of the Monticello First United Methodist Church and England Chapel Methodist Church in Jackson. She was a member of the North Georgia Conference Ministers’ Wives, Bridge Club and the Monticello Garden Club.
Bixie worked as a kindergarten teacher for over 30 years and retired from the Jasper County Primary School.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Larry Leslie Pearson of Monticello; daughter and son-in-law, Marion and Dominick Rinaldi of Hampton; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Rinaldi of Hampton.
Funeral services will be held, Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Monticello First United Methodist Church. Interment will be held in West View Cemetery. Rev. Larry Caywood and Dr. Jamie Jenkins will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Don Kelly, Tony Tanner, Jimmy Dye, Kyle Melvin, Wes Tanner, and Thurman Willis.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.
The family suggests donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Monticello First United Methodist Church, 651 College Street, Monticello, GA 31064; or the England Chapel Methodist Church, Jackson.
