Maurice Stephen “Steve” Cook

Maurice Stephen “Steve” Cook, age 62, died Sunday, November 9, 2014, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.

Steve Cook was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. His parents were the late John Paul Cook and Beatrice Ray Cook. He was a member of Callie Fuller Baptist Church. Steve enjoyed woodworking. He worked as a supervisor for Contract Packaging in Covington.

He is survived by his wife, Chauveaux Roper Cook of Monticello; children, David Cook of Jackson, Kip Cook of Newnan, and Candice Moore of Monticello; grandchildren, Ashton Cook, Anna Cook, Arlie Cook, Malia Moore, and Jack Moore; and sister, Martha McMichael of Monticello.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Callie Fuller Baptist Church in Monticello. Interment will be held in Talmadge Cemetery in Monticello. Rev. Charles Roper will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Cook, Kip Cook, Travis Moore, Terry Richardson, Matt Alexander, and Mike Thomason.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, November 10, 2014, at Jordan Funeral Home.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Callie Fuller Baptist Church, 2690 Hwy 212 W, Monticello, GA 31064.
