Cougar Ladies Compete in All-Star Game

Piedmont Academy’s senior softball players competed in the GISA All-Star game at Mercer University in Macon Saturday.

Cheyenne Galloway, Morgan Tillman and Remington Marsh all started the first game of the doubleheader and then played the last three innings of game two.

“All three players contributed in the games,” said Piedmont coach Daniel Funt.

The first game ended in a 10-10 tie while Class AAA won the second contest 11-3.

“I hope the players enjoyed the experience,” Funt said. “I am so proud of the season they had. These seniors will be missed and I wish them the best of luck as they move on from Piedmont.”

Three Lady Cougars were recently selected All-State for the 2014 season. Galloway and Tillman were both named All-State along with Matti Smith.

All-Region players for 2014 included Galloway, Marsh, Tillman, Smith, Amelia Dodson, Taylor Swart, Haley Tyler and O’Neil Sealy.

The Piedmont Academy varsity and middle school softball and cross country awards banquet will be held Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the school gym.
