Football Contest Proves Tough Again

It proved to be another tough week in The Monticello News football contest. Who would have guessed that Carolina and Cincinnati would end in a tie, making the most any player could get right 14.
However, no one got 14 right, and only two players got 13 right. Baylor Edge had faith in the purple Hurricanes who fell at the hands of Macon County, 50-18. That was the only game he missed.
However, he guessed 49 points would be scored in the contest.
Taylor Fields didn’t have faith in Monticello, but missed on Georgia Tech’s fall to Duke, 31-25. He also had 13 right, but he guessed the tie-breaker score of 54. Since the tie-breaker score was 68, he was closer, and so he won.
For his efforts, Mr. Fields collected a prize of $25 from Jeremy Knight at Town ‘N Country General Store. But, Mr. Fields attends school in Macon, so he sent his little brother, Justin, to pick up his prize for him.
The Fields family members are frequent players of the weekly contest, and this time, Taylor was the lucky, or skilled, one.
This week, contest players have a chance to try their skill again, and one lucky, or skilled, player will pick up a $25 prize from Lewis & Malone Heating and Air. So sharpen your pencil, pull out your glasses, and open the paper to page 13 to try your skill.
Anyone who correctly guesses the winner of 12 or more games listed will have his or her name added to the Grand Prize Honor Roll for a chance at four premium tickets to the Chick-fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta.
