Deer Festival Section Coming

With the beginning of Deer Season the annual Deer Festival can’t be far behind. This year it will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, with the fun run beginning at 7:30 a.m., and festivities continuing until 5 p.m.

As always, The Monticello News will publish a special section to coincide with the festival. We would like to feature photos of deer that successful hunters have harvested. Please submit to The Monticello News by e-mailing to news@themonticellonews.com; uploading to Facebook, or coming by 237 West Washington Street, Monticello.

Everyone who gets a paper that week gets a copy of the section, and so does everyone who runs in the Deer Dash or is a vendor at the festival, and extra copies are available around town so readers can have an entertainment schedule, parade map, and vendor map.

It’s a great opportunity to advertise your business or special event. But, remember the deadline is Thursday, Oct. 23. Deer pictures can be submitted after that time, but for production purposes, the sooner, the better. Good luck hunters! We hope to hear from you.
