Piedmont Academy’s Middle School football team fell to Bethlehem Christian Academy 35-12 last week, but the team is showing improvement, coach Alvin Hawkes said.

“We played much better than we did the week before, especially in the second half,” the coach said. “The team did a good job of coming out and playing hard in the second half even though we were down 35-6. We keep BCA from scoring in the second half.”

Piedmont put points on the board on a Dalton Whitley touchdown reception from Dylan Coe. Owen Brady also scored on a long run.

Defensively, J.T. Webb had an interception from his tackle position.

“The defensive unit played exceptionally well in the second half,” Hawkes said. “Overall, I am proud of the players and the effort they put forth. I know that we can continue to improve as the season continues.”

The Piedmont Academy Middle School football team will host Central Fellowship today, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m.
