Ms. Anna Lee Byron
A celebration of life service for Ms. Anna Lee Byron, who died August 20, 2014, was held Saturday, Aug. 23, at St. John C.M.E. Church in Monticello. Rev. Dr. Lavonia K. McIntyre, pastor, officiated.
Ms. Byron was born on June 20, 1932, to the parentage of Issac Byron and Lessie Mae Card Byron of Jasper County. Both parents, and a brother, David Byron, preceded her in death.
She attended school in Jasper County. “Ms. Anna” was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and frequently attended St. John C.M.E. Church. Fishing and cooking were her hobbies.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Bernice Stone, Christine Ross (Willie), Doris Rooks and Angie Rooks (Bobby), all of Monticello, GA; sons, Tommie Rooks, Tony Rooks, Ricky Rooks and Michael Rooks, all of Monticello; sisters, Lisa Byron and Kathy Byron, both of Covington; brothers, Daniel Byron and Tony Thurman, both of Monticello; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Eula Byron, 23 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge.
