Middle School Lady Cougars Defeat Brentwood

Piedmont Academy’s Middle School softball team recorded a 5-2 road win against Brentwood Monday.

Cassidy Cook was 3-for-3 at the plate with singles in the first, third and fifth innings.

Madison Morton recorded 10 strikeouts and allowed no earned runs and no walks in six innings.

Earlier this season, the Middle School Lady Cougars defeated Briarwood 9-0.

The game lasted less than three innings due to time constraints and weather conditions. Piedmont scored seven runs in the first inning and added two more in the second.

Morton went the distance with several team members contributing to the win, coach Kirstie Lewis said.

“Everyone did a great job working on pitch selection and being aggressive on base,” the coach said.
