Royce Jackson Clark

Royce Jackson Clark passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014. He was born in Flowery Branch in 1925, served in the infantry in World War II in the North African and Italian campaigns and recuperated from his injuries on the Isle of Capri.

He was known by many names and titles—son, brother, husband of 66 years to his beloved Marjorie, father to his children, Steve and Josette Clark; uncle to Monticello residents Jean, Stone, and Phillips Workman and a whole tribe of folks he loved and loved him.

Uncle Jack lived in Atlanta, Phenix City, Lake Lanier, Brookton, Asheville, N.C., and Jekyll Island before finding his paradise at the “Palace by the Pond” here in Jasper County.

A “homecoming reunion” was held on Saturday at the Fellowship Hall of the Monticello Presbyterian Church with a graveside service at a later date.

Memorials may be made to The Retreat Nursing Home, Uncle Jack Party Fund, 898 College Street, Monticello, GA 31064.
