Charlotte Williams
A celebration of life for Charlotte Williams was held July 30 at St. James A.M.E. Church. Pastor Donna Marie Calix officiated.
Ms. Williams was granted her angel wings on July 24, 2014. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Charlotte had touched in some small way throughout her life.
Charlotte was born June 7, 1943 in Monticello, to the late Walker Williams Sr. and the late Mamie Lee Jordan Williams.
Charlotte attended Jasper County Training School and recently retired from Sparks Christian Academy in Lithonia where she worked for 20 years. She was a long time member of Sardis CME Church where she grew up and a faithful member of Pleasant Hill CME Church in Conyers where she served as Choir President.
She spent her time taking care of family and friends, doing crossword puzzles and attending church. Charlotte loved the Lord and she loved her family.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her brothers Hollis Williams Sr. and Walker “Dub” Williams Jr.
Charlotte leaves to treasure her memories a daughter, Cheryl Denise Williams of Lithonia, son, Marcus D. Williams of Decatur; grandson, Michael J. Johnson Jr. of Lithonia, a brother, Nathaniel Williams Sr. of Monticello; a special friend, Dale Butler; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Pallbearers were Hollis Williams, Jr., Travis Williams, Kytrone Williams, Rufus Thurman, Jr., Mendall Williams, and DeWayne Williams.
Final arrangements entrusted to Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 923 Funderbrug Drive, Monticello, 706-468-6625.
