Awards Banquet Held for State Champs

Piedmont Academy paid tribute to its 2014 state championship baseball team during a recent awards banquet.

The Cougars won the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) Class AA state title this spring, sweeping Trinity Christian School in the finals.

Awards presented included:

•Tyler Mills, Scholar Athlete

•GISA All-Star game participants: Malcom Tyler, Jared Smith and Mac Brittain

•All-State players: Zach Beggs, Mac Brittain, Luke Andrews and Josh Williams

•All-Region players: Zach Beggs, Mac Brittain, Josh Williams, Jared Smith, Luke Andrews, Michael Davis, Noah Quick, Tyler Mills, Mack Brady, Michael Edwards and Hunter Knox.

“It was a great evening of celebration and fellowship,” said coach Daniel Funt. “It was great to talk about each player and how they contributed on a remarkable team and an excellent season. I am still so happy for them.”
