Carrie Mae Dennis

Carrie Mae Dennis was born January 11, 1942 to the late Willie Mae Maddox.

She attended school in the Jasper County School System. On Wednesday, June 4, 2014, she made transition from this physical life to her eternal life.

A celebration of life for Mrs. Dennis was held Sunday, June 8, and Greenwood Baptist Church. Rev. Nicholas Curry officiated; burial was in Community Cemetery in Shady Dale.

Carrie Mae was a faithful member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church from childhood until her health failed.

She had an outgoing personality, smiling, willing, and always helping others. Carrie Mae took pride in taking care of her home and her children, a very good cook, until her health failed. A loving person always made lots of friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Betty Ann Carter (Andy) of Conyers, and Florence Dennis (Willie) of Madison; a son, Larry Dennis (Mildred) of Shady Dale; a sister, Marie Dennis of Decatur; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of devoted nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Smith and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
